OUR STORY
We choose to specialise
We started Novocastrian Bathroom Solutions in 2014 with a clear idea: the renovation industry needed a company that did one thing exceptionally well, rather than a dozen things adequately. So we chose bathrooms, ensuites and laundries. We’ve been refining that craft ever since.
Hundreds of completed renovations later, NBS has become Newcastle’s specialist bathroom renovation team, known for design quality, workmanship that holds up over decades, and a renovation experience that doesn’t leave you exhausted at the end of it.
Led by a fully licensed builder
Shane Grant is the licensed builder behind Novocastrian Bathroom Solutions (NSW Contractor Licence No. 267690C) and a member of the Housing Industry Association (HIA). He has decades of building industry experience and has spent the past decade specialising in bathroom and laundry renovations.
That full builder’s licence matters more than most homeowners realise. Most “bathroom renovators” in NSW operate under a Kitchen, Bathroom and Laundry Renovator licence, which legally limits what they can do. They can’t take on structural changes, can’t reconfigure load-bearing walls, and can’t sign off on work involving the integration of your bathroom with the rest of your home.
A fully licensed builder can. Which means when something unexpected comes up mid-renovation, and with older Newcastle homes, things often do, we have the legal authority and technical experience to handle it properly, rather than stopping work and calling in someone else.

THE NBS APPROACH
OUR APPROACH TO RENOVATIONS
We’ve delivered hundreds of bathroom and laundry renovations across the Hunter region, and we’ve learned that the projects that go best, for us and for our clients, share three things in common:
Communication
Renovation is disruptive. Clear, regular communication is the difference between an exciting project and a stressful one. We tell you what’s happening, when, and why, at every stage.
Collaboration
The best designs come from understanding how you live, not from imposing what we like. We listen first, design second, and refine until it’s right.
Craftsmanship
A bathroom is a wet area in constant use. Cutting corners on workmanship shows up, sometimes immediately, sometimes years later. We don’t cut corners. We build bathrooms that perform for decades.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
4.8
Based on 127 reviews
From the get-go we knew we were working with an experienced and professional team. All the staff and tradesmen were understanding of our needs and respectful of our property at all times. There was a genuine sense of care and responsibility throughout the project and we are so thrilled with the result!
Linda
NBS did an amazing job at converting our ugly unused sunroom into an ensuite and office. From the initial consult, to design, to build, it was an easy, smooth, fairly quick and mostly stress-free process. Some more communication throughout the build phase would have been appreciated (eg a weekly update), but overall we are very happy.
Andrew
The entire team at Novacastrian Bathtoom Solutions have been personable and totally professional. We couldn’t be happier with our new bathrooms. The process from design to project management was excellent and we were kept informed all the way through the process. All the associated trades were coordinated, friendly and the workmanship exceptional. Thank you all.
